What does buying a certified vehicle mean?
When shopping for a vehicle, there are three options to choose from, including brand new, used, or certified pre-owned vehicles. Personal factors will determine what’s right for you, but Morgantown Mitsubishi thinks a certified pre-owned vehicle is a solid choice.
Certified pre-owned vehicles must go through special inspections manufactures specify to be accepted in these certified programs. There are a multiple things mechanics look for as they examine each used vehicle. If the vehicle needs minor repairs and still meets the certified program requirements, then that item is fixed, and it has the possibility to pass.
These cars are certified by each dealer as they check off everything the manufacturer requires. If the car doesn’t meet the requirements listed, then it simply doesn’t get approved into the program.
How are used cars chosen?
When dealerships get a lease return or they have a trade-in, those cars are inspected to see where they stand. There are also things like mileage, year, interior and exterior condition, and other minor things taken into consideration before it’s considered for a full certification inspection.
Typically, certified vehicles will be a little more expensive than a regular used vehicle. These cars are in better condition than your regular used cars and with the vigorous inspections, you will get more for the value of your money.
Keep in mind this is still not a brand-new car, so you will be paying a lot less. Buying a certified vehicle is recommended if you don’t want to buy a new car or don’t want to run the risk of depreciation. In addition, you won’t have to worry about your used car breaking down anytime soon.
